Locals will be electing delegates to the international convention of the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters, to assemble. In Las Vegas on August 7-11, next year. In issuing the call, General Secretary Treasurer Pat Perno assures members that "The UA is moving ahead." ....

Gentlemen: We have been asked for guidance by some members of Plumbers Local 1 who call our attention to the agreement of December 10 between by their local and the United Association on the one hand and the NYS Attorney General and the US Labor Department on the other. They are concerned with an important part of that agreement which requires the institution of fair job referral rules. They are disturbed because, they say, that after two and a half years since the agreement was signed, this major reform has not been adopted and their business manager, George W. Reilly, indicates that he has no intention of doing so.

Former AFL-CIO Building and Construction Trades Dept. president, Robert A Georgine (aka Mr. Innocent) has reached a $13 Million settlement with ULLICO to return profits he swindled from the members of this union owned company.

This report is submitted to the membership of Local Union No. 7 from my attendance as an elected delegate at the 99th Annual New York State Pipe Trades Association Convention. The convention was held in New York City at the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers from September 25-28, 2005. In addition to this written report, I presented an oral report to the membership on October 14, 2005 at our regular monthly union meeting.
